From the Field: Mealy Parrot

May 28, 2015

The Mealy Parrot  (Amazona farinosa)  is a large Amazona of Central and northern South America.  It is almost all green with a bold white eyering of bare facial skin and a red patch in the secondaries.  The species has suffered some declines due to trapping for the captive wildlife trade and habitat loss.
